The Peter W. Hart Gallery is a living, historic entity unto itself. An architecture aficionado’s dream, the gallery retains the original bones of a classic era gone that perfectly complements the artist’s contemporary vision of today. The Peter W. Hart Gallery is available for the discriminating client who seeks an intimate venue to add to the unique charm and beauty of their special event!
The artist, Peter W. Hart, and his wife, Francine Bellomo, are both self-proclaimed lovers of the arts. While Peter is in charge of the creation of the gallery’s works, Francine is in charge of the display and dissemination of Peter’s art. Since its grand opening on May 17, 2013, Peter and Francine have made the walls of the PETERwHART Gallery their home away from home. The gallery was originally an inn built in 1881 and has changed hands and purposes a few times before landing as the home of PETERwHART Gallery. Initially, Francine and Peter thought the gallery would be a temporary exhibition but because of its popularity, quickly changed course and decided to make it the permanent home of Peter’s artwork. Now, eight years later, the gallery is still a popular stop for local neighbors as well as visitors to Québec and Old Montréal.
Operating under the tenets of freedom and joy, the gallery encourages artistic exploration without constraints or limitations. The gallery’s representation of a solitary artist allows the team to simplify connections between Peter, both the random procurer and serious collector, and the worldwide artistic community.
While 2020 has been a challenge for many, it has brought a great deal of positive energy and change to the PETERwHART Gallery. Peter has built a new studio located in the back of the gallery. This spacious new working studio allows the artist to work even closer to the public. Also, the gallery has begun offering “Virtual Interactive Tours” with a live member of the gallery team showcasing the artist’s latest works for those who cannot visit the gallery in person.
